Agree in writing
A sale of land can only be enforced if the agreement is in writing and signed. Never pay a deposit before there is one.

Pay the deposit safely
Deposits are commonly about 10% of the price. Pay through your attorney or a documented client account, and keep the receipt.

Your attorney searches the title. A transport is advertised once in the Official Gazette, with 13 days for anyone to object.

A power of attorney signed before a notary and two witnesses lets someone you trust act for you in Guyana.
